David Fried, President
David grew up in Flemingburg KY, where his family owned a department store since the early 1900′s. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Journalism & Advertising. With retail in his blood and a gift for designing and configuring communication systems; in 1980, he founded ComtronICS. David is an avid skier and traveler, with a great fondness for The Big Lebowski, from which comes his favorite quote: “Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes, well, he eats you.”
Deborah (Deby) Prechtl, Creative | Marketing Director
Deby is an astute multi-talented creative in graphic design, technical writing, and product design engineering. A strategic thinker, she wears a variety of hats within ComtronICS since the company’s inception. Her interests include historical architectural research/renovation, jewelry design, color analysis, creative writing, and social media. Her favorite witticism? “Wherever you go–there you are!”
Melinda Lyons, Shipping & Receiving
Melinda is from Lexington KY and has a degree in Business. Her interests include gardening and scrapbooking. A friendly person, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
Gerald Caton, Technician
Gerald has been with our company for many years as the go-to guy for all kinds of technical issues. His hobbies include collecting radios, antique bottles and model trains. His philosophy of life? “I just take things one day at a time.”

Louis Cloud, Senior Field Technician
Louis is an easygoing and quick-witted philosopher with a fondness for the writings of Mark Twain, whom he frequently quotes. He has a First Class FCC license in Electronic Communications and digital matrixing training for Clearcom. Professing himself to be a gifted massage therapist, Louis says his favorite things include house boats, Alaskan cruises, and a good nap.
